The stools looked a little lighter in color on the internet than they do in person. Luckily the color ended up working for me but it wasn't what I expected.

Got these to go in the kitchen at an island. Perfect size and good quality. I like the finish and the clean lines of the stools, which make them easy to wipe down. These are what they are -- simple bench seats at a decent price. My in-laws have a set that is similar, but much nicer looking since they have little details that point to better workmanship and a more interesting, almost antique look. These are modern looking and the seat doesn't bow as much as it might look in the picture -- in fact, the wood is just carved to look bowed, but it's straight on the bottom. It's a good price though, especially with the free shipping.

When we viewed these online, we though they were perfect. When we got them they looked perfect and made such a difference in our living area. When we sat on them though, they felt a little wobbly. This is a problem for us since they get a lot of use. We are going to try and strengthen them with "L" brackets.

If you do not anticipate them getting used everyday they are great, but if this will be your primary seating and eating, you may want to be prepared to add extra support. For the price though, I think it may be worth it.

Words can't describe the horribly inferior quality of these barstools.

I had to take them apart and glue them back together just to try to make them safe enough to sit on. Then I was still afraid they would collapse and someone would bust their head open on the tile floor.

I ended up throwing them out just to get rid of the image in my head of someone spilling their brain on my floor.

These stools are very poor quality when it comes to the black paint on them. You'll be lucky if you can find a leg without paint missing all over it. I would NOT recommend these unless you are prepared to spend your own time fixing the paint on the stool. You are better off buying unfinished saddle stools and painting them yourself for a much cheaper price then buying these. If you plan to paint them yourself again or customize them then go for them. I will probably end up repainting them myself.



ADDITION: I just put the 2nd chair I bought together and the legs are not all even in size. The chair wobbles like it is 20 years old. I will also be having to either cork a leg or sand down the legs to get this chair to sit on the ground flat. Very disappointing.

The stools look better than I expected and feel very sturdy. I ordered two stools and assembled them painlessly in about 30 minutes combined. Part of that time included cutting felt pads for the bottom of the legs. The stools did not include any type of footing and I didn't want them to destroy my wood floors.



I deducted one star as the finish wasn't completely uniform and one of the seats had a small scratch. However, given the price they are a steal.

The stool is easy to assemble, and is quite sturdy. I use it in my shop, and tend to put my feet on one of the longer crossbars. The finish is wearing off there. A plastic cover for at least one of those crossbars would be a good idea.

Like others, I had trouble locating the "dots" to distinguish which leg goes where, I ended up guessing... WRONG. The stool still assembled incorrectly, but there were tiny gaps where the legs attached under the seat. (I'm sure some people have assembles them wrong and not even noticed.) So, I unscrewed the whole thing and started again. Now it's perfect. I ordered a second stool, and it was missing all hardware (however, this stool DID have the "dots"- red stickers- identifying the pieces). I have contacted the company, and Amazon, and expect the problem to be remedied. I'm sure I'll be ordering a few more.



*HINT- If your stools are missing the red dots, just use the pic as a guide. The LONG cross bar goes in the top holes, the SHORT bar goes in the lower holes...
